As part of its annual meeting, the superiors of the French-Speaking Africa and Madagascar Conference (CAFM) met in Yaoundé (Cameroon) from January 15 to 16, 2025. That Conference is composed by the provinces of Senegal, West Africa and Madagascar, the Delegation of Central Africa and the general councilor liaison for the CAFM. Brother Michel BOUCHER, Provincial Superior of Canada, attended the meeting as a guest of the CAFM.
The themes discussed during our meeting were the following: life in our five houses of formation, the training of our future formators, solidarity, collaboration within the CAFM and the institute, and finally, the implementation of the call of the 2024 General Chapter: Hope that empowers us to act.
During our stay in Cameroon, we had the opportunity to visit the local communities of Nlong (future site of the CAFM Postulancy) and Douala, Cameroon's economic capital. The meeting with the Religious of Jesus Mary of Saint Claudine Thévenet was a very rich moment of fraternity.
At the end of our work, the rotating presidency of the CAFM was entrusted to Brother Paul-Michel THIAKANE, provincial of Senegal.
