A recent visit from February 9 to 22, 2025 with the brothers at the scholasticate in Nairobi Kenya proved to be an inspiring experience. The defining characteristic of the encounter was the palpable sense of a welcoming community. From the moment of arrival, the brothers displayed genuine warmth and openness, fostering an atmosphere of comfortable  and relaxed engagement.

The twelve young brothers and two formators from, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mozambique, Uganda Zambia and Zimbabwe radiated a profound sense of hope. Their enthusiasm for their vocation was evident, and their conversations were filled with a forward-looking optimism. They spoke earnestly about their studies, their spiritual formation, and their aspirations to serve their communities and the wider world.

A recurring theme throughout the discussions and interviews was their desire to actively live out the 37th General Chapter theme, "I want to awaken your hopes." This theme resonated deeply with them, and they expressed a clear understanding of its implications. They spoke of the challenges facing the world, but also of their conviction that their faith and their work could contribute to positive change. They were eager to explore how they could embody this message of hope in their future ministries, demonstrating a sincere commitment to bringing light and encouragement to others.

The scholastics' dedication to their spiritual journey and their desire to make a meaningful impact were truly inspiring. Their vibrant energy and sense of hope left a lasting impression, reaffirming the importance of nurturing and supporting these young brothers in their formation and preparation to serve their communities and the world.
